Is everyone an intellectual, or can tired non-artsy parents attend?
But I’m being serious, is it weird to attend alone?
I have food allergies. Can I request a custom menu?
What if I don’t drink?
I’m not really into yoga. Is that ok?
Am I fashionable enough for this adventure?
What’s included in the price?
Does everyone already know each other? They seem like they’re a tight group!
If I show up alone, will I be flying solo in a sea of couples?
Who goes to Feasts?
Ok but what if these strangers are scary weirdos?
What is a normal retreat day like?
What if I don’t speak the language? How will I get around?
How much control do I have over my trip?
Every year, Feasters show up as strangers and leave as friends. All ages, walks of life, home cities-- the biggest thing Feasters share is their spirit of adventure, delight in life, and desire to travel and live bigger. We’d be intimated too, if we didn’t know how many lifelong friendships have come out of the Feast and how wonderful the people are who find us. We’re here and waiting with a tray of champagne. We can’t wait to welcome you to the club.
(PS. cultivating a vibrant, open-hearted community is our dream come true. We’re so glad you found us and truly feel that if one of our trips or events speaks to you, the people who are waiting to meet you are already signing up as well.)
Nope!
Every year, a diverse new group of Feasters delights us with their alchemy. Strangers show up semi-nervous and leave as friends. We feel like proud parents as we watch all our Feasters continue on deep friendships after they've returned home. Solo travelers, friends and couples all toast the same champagne-- just like the vibrant mix of every good dinner party.
You are a future Feaster if you care about traveling intentionally and trust us to curate an experience you can’t get anywhere else. You love food, and respect that the best meals are equally likely to be at a sidewalk stand as a 5 star restaurant. You enjoy local drinks and the spirit of a raucous dinner party, and don’t want your vacations to be a frat party (not that they weren’t fun at the time…). You want a mix of new people to share memories with and the space to do your own thing when you feel like it. You care about beautiful things and want to experience a deeper layer of the countries you visit.
If this is you, we’ve got a spot for you at the table.
Wake up in a beautiful place, morning yoga, delightful breakfast, photo lessons, swimming pool time, wander through local haunts with your guidebook, drink local recommendations selected by our award winning (and hilarious) sommelier, eat eat eat, have a photoshoot in a historic village if you so choose, saber a champagne bottle for happy hour, enjoy dinner by candelight, retire to your room or spend the nighttime hours watching old French movies, sleep deeply in the stillness of old stone, wake up, repeat. We have a carefully curated schedule, but if you want to use this as your chance to stay in an incredible location, have your meals handled, and do your own thang-- no problem.
If you can exit an airport, you’ll be just fine. Every Feaster gets a custom guidebook with a phrase dictionary that we wrote just for your trip, but speaking the language is no longer a hindrance because we either speak it ourselves (in French and Spanish countries) or have local guides who have you covered!
(Sample guidebook phrase from MFR Provence: "je parle Francais comme un vache espagnol" ("I speak French like a Spanish cow"). You'll be a hit! Laura once charmed her way into bringing a bottle of wine through airport security with this handy little zinger.
Listen: you don’t have a week to waste when it comes to international travel. We set you up for a beautiful adventure without the legwork of having to assemble it yourself, and everything is optional. If you’d like to spend your days writing the next great novel at the local cafe and show up for meal time hangouts, we support it. If you’d like to relax and let us thoughtfully guide your days in places we know like the back of our hand, then you’ve come to the right place. We give you the framework, and your vacation can be a mix of solo or group.
Who told you this was an intellectual thang?! And who would appreciate a vacation from cooking and decision making more than a parent who hasn’t had a day off? We’re right there with you.
This is a real question we got and we’re still cackling about it.
Stop. No. We have a mix of ages and romantic statuses every year, and we will be waiting for you with open arms-- along with about 15 of your future besties.
Great question! Our chef can work with a variety of allergies and has previously customized menus to be gluten free or vegetarian, though we recommend having a general flexibility of diet so you can properly enjoy the flavors and combinations in any given place. If you are a strict vegan, these are not the trips for you. Please send us a note with your specific dietary restrictions before signing up so we can advise you on whether or not we can accommodate!
No problem! We don't think you need booze to have a great time-- we'll have non alcoholic options and have hosted at least one pregnant person every year who still had a blast.
This is not a yoga retreat, per se! We have yoga in the mornings so you can start your day feeling loosey goosey, but it's not required. Feel free to attend or stay in bed with an espresso.
This is your chance to heighten your travel wardrobe, so you feel like the effortlessly glam version of yourself that your childhood self dreamed of. Aim for comfort above all, but also know that our last night White Dinner is the chance to pull out all the stops, and we have at least one formal night as well. We’ll send a style guide once you book so you’re always prepared!
All your accommodations. All your food. A healthy amount of alcohol. Our custom welcome gifts. And turning a previously mysterious place into a second home.
Not included: flights to and from the location, any shopping or spending you’d like to do, and any additional alcohol/food you’d like to get outside of group activities. We also have optional add-ons, including personal photoshoots, available upon arrival!
Does everyone already know each other? They seem like they’re a tight group!
